The Psalms are Israel's prayer and song book, gathered in five collections. They praise, protest, confess, remember and hope, and they teach a reader how to speak to God in every condition.

Authorship
Many are attributed to David, others to Asaph, the sons of Korah, Solomon, Moses and unnamed writers.
