Bible Versions & Scripture Credits
Audela Bible Learning Centre keeps its studies free of legal notices so that nothing stands between a reader and the text. The acknowledgements belong here instead, gathered in one place and kept current.
Scripture quotations
Unless a passage is marked otherwise, Scripture quoted within our studies, devotionals and reading plans is taken from the King James Version, which is in the public domain and may be quoted freely.
Where a study benefits from a second witness to the text, we draw on the American Standard Version and the World English Bible. Both are also in the public domain.
The Bible reader
The reader offers Scripture in many languages and translations, supplied through the Bolls Life and eBible Scripture APIs. Availability through a provider is not permission, so every edition is reviewed one at a time before it is offered. Only translations that are public domain or openly licensed for commercial use, redistribution, offline caching and app distribution appear in the reader. The full record, including the editions we have withheld, is published in our Bible translation licensing register.
Modern translations such as the New International Version, the English Standard Version, the New American Standard Bible, the Christian Standard Bible and the New Living Translation are protected by copyright and are not shown on Audela. Should a publisher grant a licence, the register will record it and the translation will appear.
Imagery
Photographs and artwork on the platform are either original to Audela or licensed for commercial use on Audela properties. Where a Bible page appears open in an image, the text shown is genuine Scripture set from a public-domain translation. We do not publish images containing invented or illegible Scripture.
Written content
