God's Love

What it means

Paul lists everything that might separate us from God's love and concludes that none of it can, because that love is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What it means

God showed his love by sending his only Son as an atoning sacrifice. Love is defined here by what God did, not by what we felt.

What it means

In the middle of a book of grief over a ruined city, Jeremiah says the Lord's loving kindnesses do not cease, that his compassion does not fail, and that they are new every morning: great is his faithfulness. The setting matters. This is not written from comfort, but from the ruins of Jerusalem.

Why every Christian should know it

It teaches you where to look for mercy on a hard morning, and it proves that God's faithfulness can be confessed inside grief rather than only after it has passed.
