Who this person is in Scripture

Shealtiel is named in both genealogies and in the return from exile, but with different fathers: Jeconiah in Matthew, Neri in Luke. 1 Chronicles 3:17-19 adds a further difficulty by calling Zerubbabel the son of Pedaiah. Scripture does not explain these differences, and readers have offered several accounts of them. Nothing more of Shealtiel's own life is recorded.
