Promises for anxiety
The Bible does not tell an anxious person to stop feeling. It tells them what to do with the anxiety and who to carry it to, and then it attaches promises to that carrying.
Notice how often these promises come with a condition attached: prayer, trust, casting the care. The promise and the practice belong together.

The promise is not the removal of the trouble. It is a peace that stands guard over the heart and mind. Paul names the path plainly: prayer, with thanksgiving, in everything.

The reason given for casting the care is that God cares. The command rests on his character, not on the size of the problem.

Jesus argues from the Father's knowledge and care, and from the birds and the grass. What is added is the daily provision he has just named, not everything a person might want.

Three verbs carry the promise: strengthen, help, uphold. The ground of it is presence: I am with you, and I am your God.

This peace was promised to men about to watch him die, so it cannot mean an untroubled life. He calls it his peace, given his way.
