The Church and what comes last
Hell
Loading Matthew 25:46…
Jesus spoke of judgement more plainly than anyone else in Scripture, and He did it as the One who came to save us from it. Faithful readers differ over the nature and duration of the punishment, and the Bible's own emphasis is not speculation but urgency. The doctrine exists to send us to Christ, not to satisfy curiosity.
A prayer from this passage
Lord, judgement is real, and You have taken it for those who trust You. Thank You for the cross where mercy and justice met. Give me a sober heart, and a real concern for people who do not yet know You.
Key truth
The Bible teaches a real judgement to come, and it presents Christ as the only refuge from it.
