Temptation

Listen to this topic

Loading 1 Corinthians 10:13

The promise is not that temptation will stop but that there is always a way out. Paul begins with God is faithful, so the escape is grounded in God's reliability rather than our willpower. Most failures happen not because there was no exit but because we stood too long in the doorway.

A prayer from this passage

Father, You are faithful, and You always provide a way out. Give me the honesty to see it and the courage to take it early. Deliver me from the temptation I keep arguing with.

Key truth

God always provides a way of escape from temptation, and His faithfulness, not our strength, is the ground of it.

Day 7: Proverbs 7

The chapter describes temptation the way it actually works: patient, flattering, and aimed at someone who is not paying attention. The son is told to bind wisdom's words on his heart in advance, because the moment of temptation is the wrong time to start deciding.
