Paul lives two years in Rome, proclaiming of God with all boldness and without hindrance; Acts ends with the gospel loose in the capital.
A church existed in Rome before Paul arrived, and his letter to it is his fullest statement of the gospel. He reached the city as a prisoner around AD 60, and tradition holds that both he and Peter were executed there under Nero.
