My Sheep Hear My Voice
Recognizing God's voice is described as a relationship, not a technique.

The truth of the day
Jesus does not offer a method for hearing His voice; He describes a relationship already established. The sheep hear because they are His, He knows them, and following is the natural result, in that order.
This reframes the whole week's search. Hearing God's voice is not first a skill to master but a relationship to enter and remain in. The context, verses 28 and 29, promises that no one can snatch these sheep from the Father's hand, grounding the ability to hear in security, not performance.

Deeper insight
What the passage says in its own setting
The image draws on shepherding practice in that region: several flocks could share a pen overnight, and in the morning each shepherd would call, and only his own sheep would separate out and follow him, verses 3 to 5. The metaphor assumes familiarity built over time, not a single dramatic encounter.
Jesus contrasts Himself with thieves and robbers, verse 1, and hired hands who flee when danger comes, verse 12. The reliability of His voice is tied directly to His character as the good shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep, verse 11, meaning trust in His voice rests on proven sacrificial love, not merely on volume or intensity of a spiritual experience.
