He Ever Lives to Pray for You
The power of prayer rests on the one praying for you.

The truth of the day
The week ends by taking the pressure off your praying. Christ prays for His people, continually, and He is never distracted or discouraged.
Able to save to the uttermost means able to save completely, all the way to the end. The reason given is not the strength of the believer's prayers but the permanence of His.

- Coming to God by Him is the only way and it is always open.
Deeper insight
What the passage says in its own setting
Hebrews 7 contrasts Christ with a long line of priests who died and had to be replaced. Verse 24 says He continues forever, so His priesthood never changes hands. Verse 25 is the conclusion drawn from that fact: an unending priest can save completely.
Romans 8:34 adds that He is at the right hand of God making intercession for us, in a paragraph asking who can condemn. That is the pastoral force of the doctrine. The one place a charge against a believer would have to be heard is where their advocate already stands.
