Waiting on God
What Scripture says to do while the answer has not come.
Built on Psalm 27:13-14. David states what kept him from fainting, then turns and gives the same instruction twice: wait for the Lord. This week follows that instruction through the rest of Scripture.
Waiting is not a gap between the real parts of faith. In Scripture it is one of the places faith is formed and shown. Abraham waited about twenty five years for a promised son, David waited years between being anointed and being crowned, and the exiles in Babylon waited seventy years for a return most of them would not live to see.
This week looks at waiting as the Bible describes it rather than as we feel it: waiting with strength renewed, waiting under a promise not yet kept, waiting through silence, waiting while doing the next right thing, and waiting that ends because God's timing, not ours, is the clock that matters.
