The truth of the day
This woman had suffered for twelve years and spent everything on physicians without improvement, according to verse 26. Her approach to Jesus is desperate and quiet, reaching from behind in a crowd rather than asking directly.
Jesus does not let the healing pass unacknowledged. He stops, asks who touched Him, and speaks to her personally, calling her daughter, turning a private, anonymous healing into a face to face encounter.

Deeper insight
What the passage says in its own setting
This healing happens inside another story, the raising of Jairus' daughter, in Mark 5:21-43. Mark interrupts one narrative with another, and both involve touch, both involve a period of twelve years, and both end with Jesus addressing someone directly.
The woman's condition made her ceremonially unclean under the law described in Leviticus 15:25-27, which would have kept her from ordinary social and religious life. Jesus' willingness to be touched by her, and to call her daughter afterward, restores her to community as well as to health.
