This week · Week 47 of 52

Perseverance

Faith that lasts is not faith that never bends, it is faith that does not let go.

Built on . A great cloud of witnesses surrounds the runner, and the race is run by looking to Jesus, who endured the cross and despised the shame.

Seven days on one page. Every week's board and its full study are free to read, with no account needed, including the weeks already behind us. Each week the study changes and the shape of the week stays the same, so you always know where you are.

    Run with Endurance

    Today's verse

    Loading Hebrews 12:1

    Today's focus

The verse follows chapter 11, a list of people commended for faith across centuries. They are called witnesses not because they watch us now but because their lives testify to what faith can hold through. Their record is the cloud.

Two things are named before the running begins: weight and entangling sin. A weight is not necessarily sinful, it may simply be heavy, unnecessary baggage carried into a race that needs a clear stride. Both must be laid aside before endurance is possible.

    Today's reminder

    • Endurance is a race, not a sprint.
    • Weight and sin are both named as obstacles, not just one.
    • A whole chapter of witnesses stands behind this command.

    Today's prayer

Lord, show me what weight I am carrying that You never asked me to carry, and what sin has become so familiar I no longer notice it slowing me. Give me a clear stride for the race set before me. Amen.
