The reign Jesus announced, already here and still coming.
Built on Mark 1:14-15. Jesus begins His public ministry with an announcement, not a suggestion: the time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand. Everything this week grows out of that opening line.

The Time Is Fulfilled

Mark sums up the whole content of Jesus' early preaching in one sentence: the kingdom of God is at hand. Not a timetable, not a set of predictions, but an announcement that God's long-promised reign was breaking in through Him.
The response called for is repent and believe, two sides of one turn: away from a life run on other terms, and toward the good news itself. The kingdom is not something to analyze from a distance. It is something to enter.
- The kingdom was announced as near, not scheduled for some later date.
- Repentance and belief are one response, not two separate steps.
- Good news, not merely good advice, is what Jesus preached.
Father, the kingdom You promised has come near in Jesus. I turn from running my life on my own terms and believe the good news. Rule in me today. Amen.
