Healing and Weakness

God's power is often most visible where our own has run out.

Built on . Paul asks three times for his thorn to be removed, and receives instead a promise about grace made perfect in weakness. Everything this week is read in that light.

Seven days on one page. Every week's board and its full study are free to read, with no account needed, including the weeks already behind us. Each week the study changes and the shape of the week stays the same, so you always know where you are.

I Am Yahweh Who Heals You

    Today's verse

    Loading Exodus 15:26

    Today's focus

This declaration comes right after the bitter waters of Marah are made sweet, at the start of the wilderness journey. God introduces Himself to Israel by a new name at the very moment He has just shown them what it means.

The healing named here is bound up with covenant obedience, not offered as an unconditional formula. It sets the stage for how the rest of Scripture will speak about healing: as something that belongs to God's character, given within relationship with Him.

    Today's reminder

    • Healing is part of how God has revealed Himself, not a side interest.
    • This name was given at the start of a long wilderness journey.
    • God's care for the body was shown before the law was given at Sinai.

    Today's prayer

Yahweh, You are the God who heals. I bring You my body and my weakness today, trusting Your character even when I do not understand Your timing. Amen.
