Prayer as Scripture teaches it, not as we assume it.
Built on Luke 11:1-13. The disciples ask to be taught, and Jesus answers with a pattern, a parable and a promise. Everything this week grows out of that request.
Seven days on one page. Every week's board and its full study are free to read, with no account needed, including the weeks already behind us. Each week the study changes and the shape of the week stays the same, so you always know where you are.

Day 1
Lord, Teach Us to Pray
Today's verse
Loading Luke 11:1…
Today's focus
The request comes after they watch Him pray. Something about His praying made theirs look thin, and they were honest enough to say so.
That is the first lesson of the week. Prayer is not an instinct you either have or lack; it is something Christ teaches. Admitting you do not know how is the beginning, not a disqualification.
Today's reminder
You are allowed to be a beginner at prayer.
Jesus prayed constantly, and He is the teacher.
Asking Him to teach you is itself a prayer.
Today's prayer
Lord, teach me to pray. I do not know how as I should, and I have often let the fact that I am no good at it keep me away. Teach me, and give me the habit of coming. Amen.
