The Miracles of Jesus
Signs that point beyond themselves to who Jesus is.
Built on John 20:30-31. John says outright why he chose the signs he recorded: so that readers would believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in his name. Every miracle this week is read with that purpose in view.
The Gospels record dozens of miracles, and they are never told as mere spectacle. Each one answers a question the crowd was already asking, or provokes one they had not thought to ask, about who could do such a thing and by what authority.
This week moves through water turned to wine, a storm stilled, a multitude fed, sight given to a blind man, a dead friend raised, a leper cleansed, and a paralyzed man both healed and forgiven. Each day reads the miracle in its own setting before asking what it shows about Jesus.
