Week 5 of 52
The Word of God
Scripture is living, active, and able to build what nothing else can reach.
Built on Psalm 119:1-16. The opening of the longest chapter in the Bible, an acrostic devoted entirely to the character and worth of God's word, written by someone who loved it before he understood all of it.
Every week of this journey rests on the same foundation: what God has actually said. This week looks directly at that foundation. The Bible does not present itself as one religious book among many or as a collection of wise sayings assembled by careful editors. It claims to be the word of the living God, given through human writers, and it makes claims about what it does to those who receive it.
That claim deserves examination rather than assumption. This week traces what Scripture says about itself: where it came from, what it does in a person, how it should be handled, and why the Word became flesh is the truest statement anyone has made about why words matter at all. By Sunday the aim is not simply to admire the Bible but to build a life on it.
