Work as Worship
Ordinary labor, offered to the Lord, becomes an act of worship.
Built on Colossians 3:23-24. Paul tells servants, and through them every worker, to labor as for the Lord and not for men, since it is Christ they serve. This week takes that instruction into the whole of ordinary work.

This verse sits before sin enters the story. The man is placed in the garden with a task, not with idleness, which means meaningful work is part of what it means to be made in God's image, not a consequence of the fall.
Dress and keep describe cultivation and protection, an active partnership with what God had made rather than passive enjoyment of it. Work was given as a good gift alongside rest, food, and companionship.
- Work existed before sin entered the world.
- Cultivating and guarding are both part of good labor.
- Being given a task is part of being made in God's image.
Lord, thank You for making work good before it was ever hard. Help me see my own labor as part of the good pattern You set at the beginning, not as a burden to merely endure. Amen.
