Wisdom in Scripture is rarely dramatic. It shows up in how you speak to a neighbor, what you do with money, how you handle correction, and whether your yes means yes. Proverbs was written to be lived on ordinary Tuesdays, not only in moments of crisis, because most of a life is made of ordinary Tuesdays.
This week reads wisdom literature as intensely practical theology. The fear of the LORD, named as the beginning of wisdom in Proverbs 1:7, is not a separate spiritual category from daily conduct. It is the root from which right speech, right work, right friendship and right money all grow. Each day takes one concrete arena of ordinary life and asks what wisdom actually says about it.
