Week 2 of 52
Growing in Faith
Faith in Scripture is given, tested, exercised and grown.
Built on Hebrews 11. The chapter that defines faith and then spends the rest of its length showing it in the lives of ordinary people, most of whom did not receive the promise in their lifetime.
Week one looked at what God begins. Week two follows what happens next, because faith in the Bible is never static. It comes from somewhere, it is tested, it obeys before it understands, and it grows.
This week refuses two errors. The first says faith is a feeling you either have or lack. The second says faith is a technique for getting what you want. Scripture treats faith as trust in a trustworthy God, and it grows the way trust between people grows: by being tried and found sound.
